EARLY BEGINNINGS

People will be introduced to the main factors that have produced the Shetland environment as we see it today – geological history, geographical location, climate, and the sea – and the interaction between humans and this environment.  These factors have combined to shape the landscape of the islands and to create the habitats that exist here, and the plants and animals that these habitats support.  The displays will be linked with various interpretive media.
