Shetland Museum and Archives achieves silver standard

Green Tourism Business Scheme Silver logoThe Shetland Museum & Archives has achieved a Silver Standard in the Green Tourism Business Scheme at their first attempt.

The Museum & Archives operations were comprehensively assessed against nine different categories: Marketing and Management, Communication, Energy Savings, Water Issues, Green Purchasing, Waste Minimisation, Transport, Wildlife and Landscape.

Paul Nadin, Facilities Manager at the Shetland Museum & Archives, commented: “All staff at the Museum & Archives are very pleased to gain a Silver Standard after just over a year of operation. We will be implementing further environmental measures which will ensure that when we are assessed again in 2010, we will also gain a Gold Standard.”
