EARLY PEOPLE

This section will encompass human settlement from earliest times to the end of the medieval, i.e. circa 4500 BC to AD 1500.  People have lived in Shetland for over 5000 years and their sites and artefacts show how they adapted to environmental and cultural influences.  Our understanding of Shetland’s early people is regularly changing.
