HOME AND LAND

This area will cover all aspects of subsistence agriculture and domestic life from 1500-1800.  Displays will stress the interrelationship of the crofting community as a whole, where so much work depended on community effort, and the diverse tasks that had to be tackled on every Shetland croft.  Themes that appear include buildings, livestock, crops, farming methods and traditional customs.
